530 House Visits + 524 Community Engagements and counting since May 2011

Support for All

  • Regular engagement with constituents through MPS, house visits and other events keeps the channels of communication open so that we were able to address concerns and provide support - whether individual challenges such as the need for financial support, or at a community level. This continues through the COVID-19 crisis, with an unprecedented number of online engagements, at a time when support for the community was most needed.

Community

  • When doors open to the new CC, it will be a place packed with features that foster stronger ties amongst Siglap residents. New features like bowling alley were made possible through feedback from residents and relentless fundraising.

Environment

  • Efforts to improve the environment have been extensive - from estate upgrades to works on the canal to improve flood management. We have also introduced numerous initiatives that have reduced waste and encouraged recycling. Commitments to dengue control measures continue in earnest to ensure that we mitigate the risks of an outbreak.

Connectivity

  • Acting on feedback from the community - particularly residents in Bedok South - we worked with LTA to improve transportation through new bus services. And soon we'll see two new MRT stations which will further enhance the commute experience in the Siglap/East Coast area.

Health & Safety

  • The Health Peers programme have provided free transport services to the elderly to attend health activities at the CC, which in turn strengthen the health amongst this group of residents. We have also conducted training programme for our residents in emergency services like First-Aid and Fire Safety so as to improve the overall safety level of the community.
